It is almost everyone’s first question, and a totally fair one. The honest answer is: it depends. There is no single price because every tattoo is different. At Púrpura Tatuajes we transparently explain the factors that define the cost so you know exactly what you are paying for.
What affects the price
- Size: the larger it is, the more time and materials.
- Detail and style: micro-realism or color takes more hours than a simple line.
- Body placement: some areas are more complex to tattoo.
- Custom design: creating unique art from scratch takes prep work.
- Artist experience: craft and track record show in the result.
How it is charged
Small tattoos usually have a fixed price or a studio minimum (the base fee covering setup, sterile materials and hygiene). Large pieces are quoted by project or by session. In every case, at Púrpura we give you a clear quote before we start: zero surprises.
The studio minimum
Even if your tattoo is tiny, there is a base cost. Why? Because every session involves new needles, ink, disposable barriers, sterilization and the artist’s time. That minimum guarantees everything is done safely.
Cheap can end up expensive
A tattoo is permanent. Chasing the lowest price at the expense of hygiene or experience is risky: fixing or covering a bad tattoo costs more —in money and in skin— than doing it right the first time. Invest in a serious studio.
